فَلَمَّا رَاَ الشَّمْسَ بَازِغَةً قَالَ هٰذَا رَبّ۪ي هٰذَٓا اَكْبَرُۚ فَلَمَّٓا اَفَلَتْ قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اِنّ۪ي بَر۪ٓيءٌ مِمَّا تُشْرِكُونَ
Translation
And when he saw the sun rising, he said, "This is my lord; this is greater." But when it set, he said, "O my people, indeed I am free from what you associate with Allāh.

Müellif iki eleştiri getiriyor: (1) efelet fiili ve bâziğaten ism-i fâili eş-şems'e atfen müennes gelmişken işaret zamiri hâzâ müzekker gelmiştir; (2) dipnotta DİB'in ism-i fâil olan bâziğaten'i fiil ("doğarken") gibi çevirmesini hata sayıyor, doğru karşılığın "doğucu, ortaya çıkıcı, görünen" olması gerektiğini söylüyor.
Bu ayette geçen ْأَفَلَت efelet / batınca fiil ve ًبَازِغَة beriat / doğarken ismi fail olan kelimeler َالشَّمْس eşşems kelimesine atfen müennes olarak gelmiştir. (...)
