فَالْيَوْمَ نُنَجّ۪يكَ بِبَدَنِكَ لِتَكُونَ لِمَنْ خَلْفَكَ اٰيَةًۜ وَاِنَّ كَث۪يراً مِنَ النَّاسِ عَنْ اٰيَاتِنَا لَغَافِلُونَ۟
Translation
So today We will save you in body that you may be to those who succeed you a sign. And indeed, many among the people, of Our signs, are heedless.

Müelliflere göre bedenin kurtarılması cezanın kendisi değil işaretidir; asıl ceza denizde boğulmak, şehirlerinden bahçelerinden ve saltanatlarından olmaktır (2/50; 3/11; 7/137; 8/52-54; 20/78; 28/40-42; 40/45; 26/65-66).
